What are the laws concerning visiting Canada?

This summer (around the 4th of July) my bf and I will be visiting his family in Vermont. They live about 20 minutes from the US/Canada border, and so of course my bf will be taking me up to Canada for a couple hours to go sight seeing.

What kind of documents will I need? I know a couple months ago all you needed was your drivers ID, but will that still be enough this summer?

Any websites you can recommend to give me more information about crossing the border from the US to Canada, and vice versa?

Thanks in advance ^_^

What should I anticipate in the process of visiting Canada?

Posted October 6th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am a 20 yo US citizen planning to visit for 6 months. I was wondering if I would need anything else besides my passport, around 4000-5000 US dollars, staying with my girlfriend so no need for a hotel. Am I admissible? What do they generally ask? Should I buy a two way ticket? Did I miss anything?

Thanks in advance.

Do i need a visa for visiting Canada for 6 months?

Posted August 27th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am planning on going to Canada and staying for 6 months. I’ve heard that you get a 6 months stamp n your passport which allows you to stay for 6 months.

However i have also heard you need a visitor visa to be allowed to stay for 6 months. Does anyone know which one is correct or have different information?

Thanks.
Oh and i forgot to mention im from Scotland UK
