Cause for a deportation is due to over staying on visa expiration.

Traveling to Canada from U.S. with only a Philippines Passport and California Drivers License?

Posted January 25th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am traveling from the United States to Canada real soon but do not know if I have the proper documentation to travel there and back. I have a valid California Drivers License and a valid Philippines Passport. I have lost my Permanent Immigrant Card and do not have time to have it replaced.

Do I have enough to travel and back?

Considering the kind of people. where ani find better people to emmigrate to, canada or US???

I’m a U.S. citizen. How do I emigrate to Canada?

Yes, I’ve looked at the Canadian gov’ts website, and I have the basics figured out, but I’m still not quite sure about the “process.” I’m really considering moving to Canada once I finish college (in a year) but I don’t know the exact steps to take.

I’m not sure if I need a visa or not (apparently, Americans and several other countries don’t need them if the stay is under 6 months?).

But, whatever, here are my basics: I’m a college student and I’m going to graduate in June 2008. Going on a student visa is possible, but I’m not sure about that.

Otherwise, can someone just walk me through this? Like, what to expect, a sort of timeline or something?

My goal, really, is just to move there, get job, become a permanent resident, then apply for citizenship (and yes, I know this will all take several years).

But yeah, any help is appreciated.

U.S. Immigration Interview?

Posted February 2nd, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

If you have been thru the Immigration interview from Canada to the U.S. can you tell me anything about it?.. I am married to an American and now have my Interview on Thursday.. I feel very nervous about it.. can anyone share there experience!
We have a lawyer looking after all the paperwork for us so I am not so worried about having proper documents.. Our marriage is Legit and we havea son together.. my biggest problem or worry is the fact that I stayed in the US much longer than allowed because I was pregnant with my son.. and then he came 2 months early and was in terrible health.. I couldn’t leave with him still in the hospital..so I waited until he was in good health and then we came back to Canada of our of free will to get my papers done properly… I am most worried that they will “ban” me and we will have to put a petition in… if that is the case.. I will have another 6 months to a year here…I have already been away from my husband for a year and a half.. I can’t take it anymore!! I know I did wrong..I just hope they will have some compassion with where I was coming from with my son.. we also have the Arizona Senator telling them he wants us home.. how much difference do you think that would make???

I’m interested in moving to Canada after college. How hard will it be? I don’t have a criminal record, and will have no working experience in my field of study.
I’m looking to gain permanent residency.
Either Calgary or Winnipeg.

How long does it take to secure a temporary work permit for Canada as a U.S. citizen?

Posted April 24th, 2010 by immigratecanada and filed in Uncategorized

I’m going to apply for a temporary work permit for Canada as US citizen. I already have a job offer. I am curious to know if anyone has done this themselves as opposed to using an immigration expediency service. Are there any tips I should utilize to ensure a successful interview with the Canadian immigration office and how long the process takes from interview to hopefully acceptance! Thanks!
