I am Thai citizen and now studying at Florida,USA, I would like to visit Canada on Thanksgiving period, but i don’t have Canadian temporary visa. And, it’s too late to mail all applications and documents to visa office. Therefore, I am going to visit Dertroit to do visa on this friday. I am wondering if I can get the visa within one-day period or not because I am living in FL and I can not go there again.

My Girlfriend and I met whilst both working for a year in Florida. She is from Nova Scotia, Canada and I am from the UK.

We both have to return to our home countries in 3 months to finish our last year each of university.

I would like to move to Canada on a temporary basis (for around a year) to work and live with her. We have decided that if this goes well, we will get married.

It would be easy for her to come to the UK because her Grandmother was born here. However, she wants to be close to her family and does not want to leave them, which I respect.

So, what kind of visa do I apply for to spend some time with her?

I am not an American citizen, I am a UK citizen and was working in the USA on a temporary visa when we met.

I’ve searched high and low on emigration sites, visa sites… and such and can’t find the answer.

Im British. There is someone I wish to be with out in Canada and I would like to work out there temporarily to see how it goes between us and so that I have money to support myself and the one im going out to see.

All I want to know is..

If I apply for a working visa, what is the standard amount of time, or the maximum I can spend out there working before having to apply for an extension or simply coming home again?

( If it helps. Im looking to go to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada )

If after so many months I return home … Can I reapply and go out for the same amount of time?
Or is it you go out once … then thats it. Not again unless you Emigrate or something.

Please be supportive and help me to find the answers I want.

My application is 3 months delay now. My medical examination was forwarded to the embassy last March 19, 2008. The processing time of this temporary work permit is only 45 days. pls help thanks. I already did the follow up thru email and fax but there is no response yet. pls advice.

How difficult is it to get a temporary work permit in Canada without a degree or a year’s full-time work experience?

Canada grants easy visa to Saudi citizens. Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia David Chatterson, has announced that multi-entry visas are being made available to Saudi nationals to visit the country for work or study an unlimited number of times for up to five years, rather than the 18 months that was previously allowed. I’m going to apply for a temporary work permit for Canada as US citizen. I already have a job offer. I am curious to know if anyone has done this themselves as opposed to using an immigration expediency service. Are there any tips I should utilize to ensure a successful interview with the Canadian immigration office and how long the process takes from interview to hopefully acceptance! Thanks!
