telephone interview instead of personal interview is possible for canada immigration application?

I got a telephone call from the embassy and to my surprise i wasnt able to give an assertive answers. There was no telephone interview in the website nor to any of the correspondence of the embassy sent to me. Is telephone interview can alter a personal interview to determine approval rate of my application for immigration in Canada?

Cohabitation was the issue which the person from the other line was discussing. Cohabitation means “living together” for at least 1 year. Which unfortunately me and my common law partner didnt meet their definition of cohabitation bec according to the person from the other line that my partner was just visiting me 2 times a year despite that our relationship was already 6 years. (My partner is a U.S. Immigrant, willing to surrender everything inluding his stable job as registered nurse just to be reunited with me for good) My partner has been the bread and butter of our family. Just like other families, one needs to be away temporarily to sustain a decent life for his family.

I emailed them that I shall be interviewed and bring along evidences that our relationship is like husband and wife. I can prove joint credit card, joint purchase of a property, our families, employers, friends, peers regarded us a couple. That in 2009, he opt to have his gallbladder removal in our country instead in the U.S since I am his partner & I coud not go to the U.S simply because I dont have a visa. That we both join responsibilities in our liabilities like house rental, electricity, water, telephone. That we travelled in 2007 together with my children. And a lot more proof that we can present.

Above avidences were sadly not mentioned during the telephone interview. Im afraid that the embassy might end up in decision which is bitter to accept. Please help us though no letter of decision we received yet, your enlightenment will be appreciated. Godspeed.
