I am applying for a Canadian student visa extension and change of status (from secondary school student to university student). I have a student visa now but it expires in August. I am an American citizen, 17 years old at present, wishing to study at the University of Toronto. My family and I do not have any criminal offences or violations of immigration laws. My family will not be living with me when I am studying (they will be living in the States). My family is willing and able to pay for my education and room/board while in Canada, and we are going to attach bank statements, etc. I live in Toronto now.

Based on that information, what is the percent chance that my student visa extention will be granted?

I’m a US college student and want to go visit a friend in Toronto. Whats the easiest way to get some type of work permit without the hassle of applying for those dealing with careers? I also don’t want to spend 400 dollars like some companies charge for this type of thing.

I want to continue my studies there, what shall I do? I heard that they would provide me a caregiver, and find me a job to live there.
Would Canada support me as a student refugee there? Until I become a resident or a citizen?

Is it true that there is a new policy in Canada where it allows international students to apply for a citzienship after graduating from university? I was told that once you graduate from a Canadian university, apply for the citizenship, work for a year, then you will be able to become a citizen. I am not sure about the actual details and so please give me some directions of what I can do in order to apply for a citizenship. Thanks.

i want to study in Canada and i do not conceal, i have intention to stay in Canada! i have chosen a college and i hope i will be accepted to the college next fall. I’m actually asking this for a close friend who is moving here. He is a college student who is wanting to go to school here and will be looking to work and become a citizen after graduation. He and I have been looking online on ways to start the process but many sites want you to pay and buy materials from them. It’s daunting and I don’t want to waste time and money going down the wrong road.

Can someone make any suggestions or point us in the right direction of how to begin the paperwork for him to obtain a student visa?
