I am a single mother of a 12yr old son, we are both american citizens, I have fallen in love with a canadian?
and would like to move to canada to start a life together. I do not plan on working for the first yr, however would like for my son to be able to attend school and receive health care. I have a place of residence in canada. but i do not know what else i will need. How can we become residents of canada? After my first year I would like to work, how does this process work? Cant seem to figure it out from the canadian consulate website. I dont qualify for skilled worker, and i want to reside not just visit canada. I would like to relocate as soon as possible. Should I just visit first and then try to get permanent residency? Should I hire a Canadian Immigration lawyer first? Please help, any information will be greatly appreciated.

Applied for immigration to Canada as single but got married?
My cousin applied to Canada 2 yrs ago as single – dependent to his parents,but he got married months ago,now the Canadian embassy wants them to update their papers before Jan of 2009.Their concern is whether to include his wife or just to state it as single..their fear is that my cousin might not be approve since he got married.Are their chances that the immigration of Canada might consider their case if they will tell the truth and be granted an immigrant visa?Btw their marriage contract hasnt been submitted yet coz their still thinking it through..thanks for any of your idea and knowledge that u will share.

I’m a single mother, seperated from my husband. However, I’m not legally seperated. My husband does not want to apply for a legal seperation for the fear of societal stigma; however, he does not have any qualms about my plans to immigrate to Canada along with my 3-year-old daughter. He is pretty much willing to cooperate in this regard. Could anyone clariy how I can get Candian visa.

Does a single canadian mother need the american fathers consent to take the canadian baby back to Canada?
Mom and baby are canadian and dad is american. They are not married and currently living in Texas. Dad has decided to kick mom out and she wants to know if she needs his consent to take the baby back to Canada. He has already told her he wont give her consent, she cant stay here because she doesn’t have a visa, but she doesn’t want to leave her child either. What should she do?
