Planning Immigration to Canada – should I hire a lawyer/representative?

I am an IT manager and am interested in a permanent residency in Canada. I hear contradicting views on whether to hire a lawyer or just go to the government website and do the process myself. there is a good $3000 saving if I do it on my own. so is it worth it to hire a lawyer or representative to do the application for you?

What should I know about Denmark to Canada emigration procedures?

Specifically, what does the law says about procedures to follow for a Danish citizen moving permanently to Canada?

Where should he start? What papers does he need, from Canada, and Denmark? What can he do to get a Visa quickly, or to pass the citizenship test when he gets to Canada? Would it accelerate the entire procedure by obtaining a marriage license while in Canada?

I have heard of the concept of an international “invitation” that a citizen can send to someone in another country, to fast-track their passage into the inviter’s country. Is this the case for Canada and Denmark?

Should Canada Open The Door Even Wider?

No other country in the world accepts as many (per capita) immigrants and international refugees as does Canada. Is this a factor which contributes to this country’s economic (and democratic) success?
Unemployment amongst recent( within last 5 to ten years) newcomers is extremely high but this situation of “imported poverty” provides job security for the hundreds of thousands of people involved in the social benefit (and humanitarian) agencies (welfare and health workers, English language instruction teachers…)
Is massive people input the secret to the country’s success?
Should the country invite even more of the world’s poor and unskilled?
