Should I use a repressentative for Immigration to Canada?

I am soon to make an application package for immigration to canada. Should I use a repressentative as I am quiet nervous as to what if I miss out a document or something. Why do people appoint representatives anyways? and how much money am I to show in my bank to the immigration officer? Is one year of tuition and living expenses enough?

Is the Canadian economy still doing well enough that I should consider immigrating to Canada?

I have family in SSK, which I am told is on the upswing in part due to jobs in the oil industry. I also heard that Alberta is still doing okay, and Toronto is a possibility as well. I know that I would have no problem with Canada’s point system, but I don’t know if it’s worth it now. Can anyone answer first hand?

I will move to Ontario after two months, should I apply Citizenship of Canada right now as Im in Quebec?

I am permanent resident of Canada and my Citizenship application is due now. Can I apply for citizenship right now and later change address to Ontario? Will that result in delaying my application process?

I am traveling to Canada for the first time and I was wondering what is different in the Vancouver area from the USA? Are there any electronics that work in the US but not BC? Also if I have personal prescription medication, will they allow me to bring it over? Or do I have to have a doctors note? Thanks!

Why should a skilled Nigerian do English Tests before being considered for immigration to Canada?

Posted May 30th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I found it funny when you ask a skilled person in Nigeria who has a Master Degree in University Education to still write English test as prerequisite for immigration to Canada.
Is Canada speaking a different English Language apart from the one we use to know?
Nigeria being a multi-languages Country only has English as a unified language which every educated person speaks fluently if not better than an average Canadian.
Many people who ordinarily should have immigrate to Canada have being denied because of this factor. Canada should be more lenient and friendly as per granting immigratrion to a Nigeria intending immigrant who is genuinely seeking immigration rather than using English as a factor of rejection, afterall, English is the official language of every Nigerian.

I am traveling to Canada. I have never flown before and am kinda scared. What should I expect?

Posted April 20th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am traveling to Canada for the first time. I am doing an overnight flight. I am leaving Cleveland at 7pm…and flying into Boston. I am flying out of Boston in the AM. I don’t know what to expect at all, with security and such. I worried about taking my laptop. I can’t afford for it to get stolen. Should I really be worried? What is the security checkpoint like? What should I expect there? Also, do I have to get a hotel in Boston, or can I just stay in the airport?

Should I fly to the UK on my Canadian or Polish passport from Canada?

Posted March 24th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’ve been living in Canada most of my life, but I’m going to Scotland for school. I also have a Polish passport so I didn’t apply for a UK study visa. I want to be in Scotland on my Polish passport but will this cause me any problems with Canadian customs when leaving Canada? Are there benefits or negatives to either that you know of? Thanks!
Thanks for the quick answers, but which passport details should I give the airlines when I’m booking my flight? Will that make a difference?

Should i hire a lawyer or apply for canadian permanent residency on my own?

Some tell me that an immigration lawyer isn’t necessary, since he will not be able to make the process go any faster. Others say it makes a lot of sense to use a lawyer since this is his area of expertise and i need to make sure everything is done perfectly.
