what can I do to get my passport from Canada or find out where in the #$%@!! process they are with it?

Posted April 5th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’m Canadian, living in the US and I applied 5 months ago to renew my passport. No officials will answer any questions by email or phone. I’m not even sure if they received the paperwork, but I stand to lose $2K in airfare and travel reservations if it doesn’t come soon. help!

Can anyone run through the process of immigrating to Canada?

I am being sponsored under the family class as a conjugal partner, what/where do I begin. I think I have all the paper work but here is the situation. I am living in the USA as a citizen, my Canadian Girlfriend lives in Quebec as a citizen. I am aware that I have to submit all the forms, the fees and the Quebec selection certificate. My question(s) is do I send all the paperwork I have to my sponsor and if not what order do i need to submit siad documents and to where (i.e. do I send the Quebec stuff to Quebec or do I send it all to CIC)? It has taken me long enough to figure out that i can immigrate to Canada but now I am so lost as to the order and location that all these documents need to be sent. Thanks to ANYONE who knows wat they are talking about here because it is MUCH appreciated. Thanks. Oh, and do I need an FBI “police report” or does my local PD count? Thanks!

Canadian Immigration Process (Family Class: Spouse)?

Posted December 23rd, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

My wife and child are canadian and I’m american. I’ve been considering applying under the “Family Class” to become a Permanent Resident. However the thought of being out of commission for 1-2 years while I wait for my PR card does not sit well with me. Being stuck doing nothing for 2 years would drive me insane.

I guess my question is:
Is there anyway I could get a temporary work visa while I wait for my PR card? Normally work visas are usually issued only to highly skilled workers; but my work experience is pretty plain. (ex:Retail, Sales, Customer Service, etc. etc.)

We want to immigrate to Canada. If I’ve been accepted in a university there, does it accelerate th process?

Can I leave Canada after I taking citizenship oath while my spouse immigration is in process?

I know as a permanent resident, I must stay in Canada while my spouse immigration case is in process.. and only Canadian Citizens can apply from outside and live out of Canada during this time. I have applied for my spouse sponsor imiigration case while I am a PR holder but I have my citizenship oath next month. So, Can I leave Canada after becoming citizen?
Will that affect my husband’s Immigration case or not?

What should I anticipate in the process of visiting Canada?

Posted October 6th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am a 20 yo US citizen planning to visit for 6 months. I was wondering if I would need anything else besides my passport, around 4000-5000 US dollars, staying with my girlfriend so no need for a hotel. Am I admissible? What do they generally ask? Should I buy a two way ticket? Did I miss anything?

Thanks in advance.

I learnd about immigrating to Canada and it is similar to Green Card Lottery the diffrence is it costs 200 and plus some paperwork. I was planning to apply but $200 is a lot of money in uzbekistan (central asia). How do you think is it worth risking and applying to this thing or is it realistic to win this thint just i have never encountered anybody who knows anything about it….
