I am filing for Canadian residency, and I would like to obtain a work permit. I do not have a job offer as of yet.

My husband is a US citizen, and we live and work in the US. He often has to go to Canada for business (to service contractors who buy his product). Technically, he is not doing any “paid” work in Canada but last time he crossed the border the Canadian border patrol told him next time he will need a work permit. Anybody knows what kind of permit they were talking about?

I am taking a minor in finance I don’t have any work experience in that field, What are my chances that a company in Canada would employ me? Is it easy to get a work permit if you are from Sweden in Canada?

How much time it takes and how easy is it ?

What is the minimum requirement to apply for a work permit in Canada and what are the conditions to keep it alive.Any body who is well verse with the Canadian law may please inform in detail how a student can keep his status valid in Canada by spending minimum amount and by studying minimum subjects. what are the precautions to be kept in mind and what are the problems one may face. My son is pursuing a post secondary course in centennial college .Toronto.

Once I get married in Canada, can I come back to US to wait for work permit? Most of the people would like to stay with their spouse and so am I; however, I don’t want to put more weight on my wife’s shoulder in order to sponsor me so I would still like to work and earn some money in the US before I get to work in Canada.
