I’m thinking about moving to Canada?
I grew up in the pacific northwest in washington and traveled to canadan many times during my life. Now i live in california but am interested in emigrating to canada. What kind of things do i need to do before I leave the country? Do I need my masters? stuff like that
How plausible is moving to Canada?
I’m soon to be a college graduate and after a summer stay in France in 09, I’ve had an itch to live abroad. As of now I don’t have very much money saved, but I’m very interested in moving to Canada. How does emigrating even work? I don’t want to be in Canada indefinitely.

moving to canada: parent problems(from a teens point of view)?
right, well basically, we applied to move to canada well over 4 years ago, and today, my mum got an email saying that our passports and visas had arrived at the office of the company we are moving with, and that they will be sent to us tomorrow.
i was upstairs on my laptop at the time, and my mum came up and told me to guess what the email was about, and i did, but she said check your emails anyway, so i did and she hadn’t sent it, so i went onto hers and there it was, clear as crystal. i just read it and thought to myself, ‘ oh damn, we are really going, aren’t we’.
i don’t think my mum was very happy with my reaction, because i just kind of sat there and was like, yer, so what? so she asked me if i had read it and i said yer and she said ‘well what do you think’ and so i said ‘yer, great’.
anyway, later on at dinner, i asked her if that meant we were going to canada again for a fact finding trip, and my older brother turned round and said, ‘why would we be going?’. my mum hadn’t told him, and still hasn’t!! i was furious, so i went upstairs and was literally on the verge of telling him, because he has a right to know.
i was actually looking forward to it, but if this is what family life is going to be like, then i dont think i want to.
i think my mum has got it into her head that because she wants to go, then everyone else in the family surely must want to go, but i dont, and neither does my dad. another thing, my parents obviously havent realised that uprooting me from the middle of year 11, and GCSEs isnt such a good idea.
anyway, my problem is:
1. do you think someone should tell my brother that our visas are coming tomorrow? (the only reason my mum doesnt want him knowing is because she thinks he will go and leave the rest of us here)
2. should i wait until after my GCSEs before going, or go before, because they dont mean anything in canada?
3. how can i get it into my parents heads that i really DONT want to go? i have tried telling them and telling them that i am happy here, and dont want to go, as i have plans of what i am doing in this country.
any ideas?
i can remember the last thing someone said to me at an emigration seminar was: ‘the whole family should sit down and talk about it together. if not, its not going to work’. he got that SO right…
How does one go about moving to Canada and changing citizenship?
i want to move to Canada. How Do I do it? Can an American change citizenship?
Moving to Canada from the UK. How hard is it?
I am going to be finishing university this year (BA)/maybe next year (MA). My boyfriend and i would love to immigrate to Canada as the UK is no longer a good place to be living and we want out. I have been looking into getting into Canada and it does not seem that hard to do, but it doesn’t look easy either. I know that having a job in Canada before you move would be the best way to get in. But how hard is tis to do? I will have a BA in computer animation (maybe an MA if i can afford it this year). I am also competent at coding in XHTML for websites. But i am not skilled enough (i don’t think) to just get a job in these areas. My boyfriend wants to be a cameraman and will have a BA in Television Production. Can anyone give me any advice please?
Moving to Canada to Netherlands, how can I get my Wii to work?
I did a little research and found that Canada works on 120V system while the Netherlands works on 230V. I bought a converter for an alarm clock since the plugs are different there the last time I went, but it busted a fuse and didn’t work anymore.
