Can’t use paypal or western union. The post office, banks won’t do it in Canadian dollars. What are my options? I need to make sure it can be cashed OUTSIDE US (Canada)

Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to transfer my GBP to CAD when I immigrate? I don’t yet have a Canadian bank account as I am not living there yet. I have a paypal account so when I sell my house could I open a bank account in Canada and send the money from my british bank into my canadian bank via paypal? It sounds obvious but if you need to pay for this service elsewhere there must be something wrong with this option. Do you think? Also, if anyone does know, please can you tell me the commision likely to be deducted?

I’m going to be immigrating to Canada if all goes according to plan in about 1 1/2 years. I have dual citizenship with the US and Canada, and would like to return to Canada to start a life there. My question is: How much money should I save between now and then to ensure that I can settle comfortably? I intend to have a job lined up , but essentially show up with the clothes on my back, a few boxes, my cat, and my car. Since I have no canadian credit history how much of a deposit will I be required to make on an apartment? Any links, resources, or personal experience would be greatly appreciated

Will I get a better exchange rate using an ATM once I get to Canada, or should I ask my bank to exchange my cash in the USA before I go? Or is there a better way to change from USD to Canadian dollars?

I was told that casinos or banks in canada will exchange my american money for canadian money for our trip to Toronto for free…but if i dont use it all, will I get all my american money back if i take it back there?

I have gone through the documentation but they are asking for alot of cash from me and my family to immigrate beside taking 24 months to process. Is there any guarantee that after paying all their required fee and having no criminal records plus a skill u will eventually get the Visa once u score more than 69 points on the test. Anyone been through the process and succeed? I need more information before I set myself for Canada and start the process. Since canada has opened its door to skilled workers why do they need one to have a fat bank statement yet u going there to work? Does using an agent increases my chance of legally immigrating there? And yes am from africa very hard working married with 2 children and we want to do this the legal way. Is there any easier way to immigrate to Canada? Man I need all the information there is to this immigration thing coz dont need to start and bail out half way through the process.

Are Immigration Lawyers worth the money for family class visa’s ?

I am marrying in January and the Canadian Immigration Website has a pretty well defined process on their website, making me believe paying $3k for someone to process paperwork is a bit excessive and unnecessary.

I am in Srilanka my house was robbed by unidentified gunmen, I was threatned by them if i make any complain to Police you would be got killed. I did not hear them but I did make acomplaint. Now I am getting threatinings. This is my main cause to migrate.

I was wondering how much money is required to go through customs when traveling to Canada from the US? My boyfriend is coming to stay all of July and maybe a week in August this summer, but isn’t going to have alot of money when he comes. Would they deny him entry to Canada if he didn’t have enough, even though I’d be supporting him? Thanks for your answers everyone.
