Applied for immigration to Canada as single but got married?

Posted November 2nd, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

My cousin applied to Canada 2 yrs ago as single – dependent to his parents, but he got married months ago,now the Canadian embassy wants them to update their papers before Jan of 2009.Their concern is whether to include his wife or just to state it as single..their fear is that my cousin might not be approve since he got married. Are their chances that the immigration of Canada might consider their case if they will tell the truth and be granted an immigrant visa?Btw their marriage contract hasnt been submitted yet coz their still thinking it through..thanks for any of your idea and knowledge that u will share.

A Chinese married person has sponsored 4 family members (parents, wife, kid) for Canadian Permanent residence?

The problem is, both husband and wife had very tense relationship, thus she returned back to her home country. They already mutually decided to have divorce by the end of this year.
And he wants to re-marry another lady from his native country.

According to Canadian Immigration laws, is he eligible to sponsor yet another person to Canada?
(he is already bound for his family for 3 years according to laws).

What possibilites and bindings he have?
Kindly educate.

Thanks.

My boyfriend (a Canadian) and I (American) want to eventually get married and both get dual citizenship, what?

My boyfriend is from Montreal and I am from Virginia. We want to get married eventually and each get dual citizenship in the other country (Canada for me and the US for him). All the information I’ve read online is so overwhelming — travel visas, student visas, work visas, fiancee visas, green cards, permanent residency, naturalization, citizenship tests, Immigration officers, Immigration lawyers, Consulates, Canadian Embassy, US Embassy — I don’t know where to start. Can anyone familiar with the process give me a basic idea of what to do first? I know it’s all complicated and takes forever and I’m prepared for that.

Once I get married in Canada, can I come back to US to wait for work permit?

Posted August 12th, 2010 by immigratecanada and filed in Uncategorized

Once I get married in Canada, can I come back to US to wait for work permit? Most of the people would like to stay with their spouse and so am I; however, I don’t want to put more weight on my wife’s shoulder in order to sponsor me so I would still like to work and earn some money in the US before I get to work in Canada. Is it possible? Or I need to stay in Canada to receive my work permit?

Im going to canada on a sponsored work permit can my girlfriend come on my permit or do we need to be married?
