Hi everyone, I really need some help and advice please!
I am engaged to a canadian citizen, I am english.
We are hoping to move back to Canada at some point in the near future.
Iv heard about sponsering- he sponsers me to stay in the country…how exactly does this work please???

Also, we would love to get our own house, probably through a mortgage. I have been trying to get as much info as possible and have found that alot of mortgage lenders wouldnt lend to us because I havent lived in Canada for long enough, is this true? How long do I need to be in the country to be eligable to get a mortgage?

Any help is so greatly appriciated x

Can an American that applied for permanent residence(by marriage to a Canadian) stay in Canada?

If the married Canadian and American have applied to have the American move to Canada, can the American stay in Canada?

I know it’s a maximum of 6 months to visit as a tourist, but is there a way to extend the time if you’ve applied for permanent residence?

I believe it may depends on if the application is inland or outland, but outland seems to be the best choice for these applications.

Thanks!

how to prove our marriage legally to immigration canada?

My wife is sponsoring her parents for a family class immigration and I’m co-signing the application, but the checklist says that I have to include a marriage certificate, and we only have a non Canadian marriage certificate and I’m not sure if I can present that as a proof of marriage! Any Ideas?
thanks for everyone. In that case I believe what I need is a legal translation since the marriage cert is not in English?
