I’m just curious because I notice a lot of people who don’t know English (not based on my assumptions, but their families have confirmed). I thought there was some kind of test they had to pass when they immigrate here? Anyone know the real rules? thanks

Anybody know about immigration in canada?

I have a friend that has moved from Mexico to Canada since 2002 with his family and applied as refugees. They got denied in their first hearing, so they appealed, and got denied again I believe, and now they got a card from immigration saying that they have to go to an interview at the airport. Does that mean they’re gonna leave that day?? Is there any chance for them to stay in Canada?

Anyone know how to immigrate to Canada?

Posted December 10th, 2010 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’d like to know how to get a work permit to move to Canada. I’ve checked the website for the province of Alberta and even emailed them but so far all I’m left with is that to get a job you need the permit but to get the work permit you need a job offer. Sounds to me like a vicious circle. If anyone knows how to get around it I’d greatly appreciate it.

I want to immigrate to Canada from the US, but I don’t know the first thing about what I need to do. Any help?

I’ve looked through a lot of info on the subject, but I’m not a “professional” or a buisness owner or anything like that. I’m just a guy who would like to move from the US to Canada. What do I need to do to make that happen?

Both my husband and i have a criminal record . My husband served time in jail. he fought he’s case from inside and won that case but did end up being charged for drugs anyways. they gave him 3 months for what he had. ended up serving 1 1/2 in prison. it’s been about 11 yrs. and has not had anything else on his record. I don’t know if he would qualify for PR in Canada. He’s job here is construction laborer, not sure if that is one of the jobs in demand in Canada. Ok my story. I was arrested in 2005 for possession (drugs) i did not serve any time, but they did give me probation for 7 yrs. i have been on probation for 3 1/2 yrs. and they want me to pay my fine and cut me early. its been 5 yrs. since my arrest and i do not have anything else on my record after or before that. my work is i guess not on the demand jobs in Canada. i work in a call center, but would we be able to ever get a PR in Canada? And plz. does anyone know a good Canadian immigration lawyer?
oh by the way my husband has been clean for 11 yrs. and yeah people do make stupid mistakes! that does not mean we are bad people. i have 3 wonderful boys that keep me going everyday and its b/c of them that we live i better life everyday!!

British MP George Galloway barred from Canada under the Canada Israel “Public Security” Agreement www.globalresearch.ca By Michel Chossudovsky Global Research, March 26, 2009 British MP George Galloway was refused entry to Canada on the pretext that he supported Hamas, which is categorized by the Canadian government as a “terrorist organization.” Contrary to what has been reported in the media, this was not a unilateral decision by the government of Canada. In all likelihood, the decision was taken in close consultation with Israel under the terms of a farreaching agreement on “public security” signed in Tel Aviv on March 23 2008. The “Declaration of Intent” establishes a framework of bilateral cooperation between Canada and Israel in the area of “Public Security”. The agreement has not been the object of debate in the Canadian parliament, nor has it received media coverage. Under the proposed agreement, the Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness of Canada is in liason with his Israeli counterpart the Director General of Public Security for the Government of the State of Israel. Together they chair a joint Management Committee. The terms reference of the Canada-Israel “Declaration” are extremely broad. They include issues of immigration and ethnic profiling, the management of borders, intelligence and the exchange of information, emergency preparedness, correctional services, prisons, law enforcement and counter-terrorism. The agreement allows for
