How long does it take to get a Permanent Resident Visa to canada. Why soo much money for immigration process.

I have gone through the documentation but they are asking for alot of cash from me and my family to immigrate beside taking 24 months to process. Is there any guarantee that after paying all their required fee and having no criminal records plus a skill u will eventually get the Visa once u score more than 69 points on the test. Anyone been through the process and succeed? I need more information before I set myself for Canada and start the process. Since canada has opened its door to skilled workers why do they need one to have a fat bank statement yet u going there to work? Does using an agent increases my chance of legally immigrating there? And yes am from africa very hard working married with 2 children and we want to do this the legal way. Is there any easier way to immigrate to Canada? Man I need all the information there is to this immigration thing coz dont need to start and bail out half way through the process.

Canadian Immigration..?

Posted January 4th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

i am currently waiting for my landed immigrancy to be accepted. I came to Canada with my parents, but my partner is not in with the immigration process.
He is currently wanting to get a work visa or some sort of temporary residency, as we have a child together who is 3months old. He does not want to miss out on our daughters life! She by the way was born in Canada so is a canadian citiizen if that makes a difference.
We have asked for help and advice from immigration services and they are not helping! every person we speak to is saying something totally different than every other person. is there anything that would help him get a work visa? does the fact of having a Canadian citizen child help him at all?
Plus we sent an Labour Market Opinion off from an employee who was desperate for employees and now 3 months on they are saying it was never received. It has been a serious frustration with these guys!!!
we are not married either

Are Immigration Lawyers worth the money for family class visa’s ?

I am marrying in January and the Canadian Immigration Website has a pretty well defined process on their website, making me believe paying $3k for someone to process paperwork is a bit excessive and unnecessary.
Forgot to mention, I am a Canadian… 🙂

My sister and her family in the Philippines have pending skilled worker application and AINP application. They filed it more than 2 years ago. Today, they got a letter from CIC saying that in 4 to 8 weeks they will get a Welcome Kit from Alberta government but they haven’t gotten an approval for these applications. Does the welcome kit mean it is the approval of application?
