The Leo Mol Sculpture Garden is one of my favorite places to visit in Winnipeg. Located in Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park along the Assiniboine river. The park’s collection was a gift from Leo Mol to his beloved city. Loe Mol was a Ukrainian immigrant to Canada, settling in Winnipeg (After a few European stops). He spent years quietly creating an impressive body of work that garnered critical praise and eventually saw him become recognized as a world renowned artist. Although known for sculpting, Leo was also a tremendously gifted painter. Some of the out buildings within the garden feature his paintings alongside exhibits that offer insight into the artist’s sculpting process. You can find Leo Mol’s work for sale at The Loch Gallery in WInnipeg, Toronto and Calgary. www.lochgallery.com www.assiniboinepark.ca Shot on a Canon DSLR 1080 60fps. Cloudy day, super flat light. Trying to utilize the hot background (sky) to my advantage. Music is by a group called The Format, the song is called “On Your Porch”. I don’t think the band is together any longer, but you can find them on line and on I Tunes. I hope you enjoy.
