How do you call a canadian cell phone number from within Canada to China?

Posted April 15th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

If my Canadian friend is in China, how do I contact him on his cell phone? Would I just dial the usual area code + phone number or do you need to add a country code? And if so, which country code would you use – Canada’s or China’s?

Do I need a passport each time I go somewhere, and do I need one to go from Mexico to Canada?

Posted April 10th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

If I travel from the U.S. to Mexico several times, do I need to purchase a passport each time, or do they last forever? Also, if I have a passport to go from the U.S. to Canada, would I need another to go to Mexico.

Just to let you know, when I say Canada, Mexico, and the U.S., those are just places I picked out of my head – is it different for other places?

what can I do to get my passport from Canada or find out where in the #$%@!! process they are with it?

Posted April 5th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’m Canadian, living in the US and I applied 5 months ago to renew my passport. No officials will answer any questions by email or phone. I’m not even sure if they received the paperwork, but I stand to lose $2K in airfare and travel reservations if it doesn’t come soon. help!

why do i feel im being prevented from living my life and doing what i want? like emigrating from the uk?

Posted April 5th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

certain people say to me ” you cant do this” and ”you cant do that” & i keep thinking when they say that, that the word ‘ can’t’ has deeper meaning..deep conotations…i think are they, or people unknown to me, preventing me, saying i can’t do what i want? i get really angry when i think deeply about this idea…because ive missed out on life greatly…im a 30 year old borderline personality disorder sufferer, ive suffered alot of abuse, pain, trauma & victimization in my life…& theres gonna be serious problems if people are saying i ‘ can’t’ do something….like their preventing me living my life, doing what i want.
i eventually want to move away from britain..emigrate to canada, the u.s or australia..however i have alot to work on in therapy……when people use the word ‘ can’t’ im percieve sometimes im being prevented from full filling my ambitions..& if this is the case theres going to be major problems, because them and me are gonna collide, me like an oncoming frait train
its just, im passionate about my ideals and ambitions in life…and when they say ‘cant’..i get confused and wonder if they or anyone else is preventing me from achieving my dreams….because i certainly oppose them and wont accept it…no one else would accept restrictions put on their life, its injust, and neither will i accept it.

How difficult is it to emigrate to Canada from US?

Posted March 29th, 2012 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

Could one ask for refugee status & if so, what would the conditions be? Do you have to give up all of your belongings? I know how others feel about the stereotypical US citizen & how much we are hated. Do French Canadians hate us as much as the French? I can’t stand what’s happening in the US. I have an 8 year old daughter & I want what is best for her. I know that Canada has some wonderful ballet companies, skating, skiing, etc. / a lot of opportunities for children.
I’m not going into my situation but you have no idea whether I qualify for refugee status or not… & I do. As for calling me a liberal democrat, far from it, lmao.
Thanks Skye but no more Mexico for us. Texas has turned into Mexico, hadn’t you heard?
Mama Mia & Lee Ann, thanks for your answers, too. You also had good ideas. Thanks everyone for participating.
