Canadian Immigration Process (Family Class: Spouse)?
My wife and child are canadian and I’m american. I’ve been considering applying under the “Family Class” to become a Permanent Resident. However the thought of being out of commission for 1-2 years while I wait for my PR card does not sit well with me. Being stuck doing nothing for 2 years would drive me insane.
I guess my question is:
Is there anyway I could get a temporary work visa while I wait for my PR card? Normally work visas are usually issued only to highly skilled workers; but my work experience is pretty plain. (ex:Retail, Sales, Customer Service, etc. etc.)
how do i find out the origin of my family?
my dads last name is grant and there are like a million grants out there (ok so maybe i exaggerate but there are a LOT) and my moms last name is pritchard
I want to find out when my family immigrated to canada and from what country. We are all white people who speak english so chances are we came from one of the uk countries because we speak a variation of british/canadian english.
my family tree on both sides stays in canada since before 1900 and we lost all my dads records because there were many fires in his homes when he was a kid. I think we lost all the family bibles from my moms side because my grandmother is dead now and so are the older relatives.
I just want to know when we came to canada and from what countries.

Waterwar: Everybody has an origin. We did not just drop from space to earth and land in Canada. Every single none native indian is an immigrant. I narrowed it down to northern/central europe but I need a little more help to pinpoint the exact countries.
A Chinese married person has sponsored 4 family members (parents, wife, kid) for Canadian Permanent residence?
The problem is, both husband and wife had very tense relationship, thus she returned back to her home country. They already mutually decided to have divorce by the end of this year.
And he wants to re-marry another lady from his native country.
According to Canadian Immigration laws, is he eligible to sponsor yet another person to Canada?
(he is already bound for his family for 3 years according to laws).
What possibilites and bindings he have?

how possible is it for a family to emigrate to Canada when….?
there are two 54 years old and one 15 and 17.
both 54 year olds have had a long past in work and still continue.
17 hopes to go to a uni. and 15 is still finishing high school….

Immigrating to Canada : Family Class?
My husband is a Canadian citizen and we are about to apply for immigration under the family class, for him to sponsor myself and my son from my previous marriage, into Canada from the UK.
We have a few things that we aren’t clear about, I am currently waiting for a court order to remove my son from UK jurisdicition, this will be in court on 19th August 09. We wanted to know if we could start our immigration application without this documentation and have it approved subject to us providing it?
“Can I work or study in Canada while waiting for approval?
While waiting for their Immigrant Visas, Family Class Immigrants are allowed to work or study in Canada only if they have been granted an Employment Authorization or Student Authorization. Family Class Immigrants entitled to apply for permanent residence from within Canada can apply for an open Employment Authorization after their applications have been approved in principle by immigration officials.”
I found the above and wondered if this is possible, if when approved in principle my son will be able to attend school and myself able to work, how would we go about this, and what time scale would it be?
