When do I get the medical exam for Immigration Canada?

The checklist says to include proof of medical examination, but another page on the web site says that they will inform you when to get it done. I am filing for my spouse from within Canada.

When is the best time to do the medical exam. Before or after I send out the application?
I guess the bigger question is if I can send in my application without the medical and just wait until they ask for it? Because I was concerned about the validity of the exam expiring since the wait time is pretty long.

Spot on lung for Medical Exam for Immigration Canada?

Posted April 21st, 2010 by immigratecanada and filed in Uncategorized

The process for sponsoring a spouse to Canada only takes 3-4 months only (after the application has been submitted ALONG with the MEDICAL EXAM certificate–proof).

My husband just went for his medical exam (the last step to pass his application papers to Immigration Canada).

The doctor called him up a week later and asked him to come back for another Xray. After the 2nd x-ray, the doctor called him again, and told him to come back because of a spot. The doctor’s secretary told him to go to this other doctor for 3 days in a row, that will explain and give him medication. They will test his phlegm too. (but he doesnt have any) They scheduled him for another xray in 3 months.

Should I be worried that it’s something serious? Can I still submit his application? Will they process his application even if he’s been rescheduled for another x-ray? Has anyone gone through this while applying for Canada? Will he be delayed in coming here? What’s the next step?

Please help!
My husband went to a laboratory at Makati Med and was told to cough up phlegm. he didnt even see ANY doctor. This was for 3 days in a row. He had to pay 950 PHP for each day. After the 3rd day, they told him that they will call him on Nov 30 for the results…and IF they need to give him medication.

The confusing part is that he’s already got another xray scheduled for Dec. 3.

if he tested positive for something, and is given medicine, can the medicine cure whatever it might be for only 3 days???? i dont think so.

the lab technicians said something about nodules…they said it might not be anything.

but still….it doesnt make any sense. i’m beginning to think that we’re being jigged for our money.

does this sound fraudulent, or am i just being paranoid??
