Emmigrating to Canada.?
Me and my wife are thinking about trying to emigrate to canada from the UK. I work in the Oil industry and my wife is a qualified nurse. We are a young couple (25 & 22). We were wondering if it would be better to apply to live there straight away or apply for a skilled work visa. As my job is rota based (3 weeks on 3 off) I could afford to keep my job until we are settled. Our ideal location would be BC as we are both snow boarders. Basically were looking to start thinking about it properly in April but don’t know where to start. Any guidance would be really help-full. Thanks Chris
How do me and my parents go about emmigrating to Australia or Canada?
My parents are thinking about emigrating. They haven’t yet descided where to, but they know it’s between either Canada or Australia. We have looked up what needs to be done on the internet but it’s all far to confusing. It would be much appreciated if some one understand it and can explain in there own words what needs to be done, or to hear from some one who has emigrated themself. Thank you =]

emmigrating to canada as an computer scientist?
after spending a few holidays in canada, i really fell in love with this country. now i`m thinking about emmigrating to canada, but i`m not sure how exactly to do it, especially about making money. I`m 25 years old and in about 3 months I will have my diploma. I`ve studied informatics and computational liguistics at the university of heidelberg, germany. my final grades will be good-excellent. since about 18 months i`ve worked part time at hewlett-packard as an administrator/supporter for linux and unix servers. so i could be working as an administrator or in computational linguistics/software development. i can program java, perl, python and c. just as a quick outline…..
now i want to compare income chances in both countries. could any1 tell me about how much i could make working in canada? how much taxes/insurance(health/loss of employment/etc.) would i have to pay? what would i have to do to get a permit for work?
would really appreciate if any1 could help.
thanx a lot, michael
I kind of expected the salaries in canada to be a little lower than in the us. in germany i would start with about 42.000 euros a year. exchange rate for cad is about 1,33, which would make 55820 cad a year. but i`m not strictly comparing the salaries between the countries. i want to go to canada, not the us and for sure not uk. (i really love vancouver!!! 🙂 ) so i just wanted to know about how much it could be and how much must be subtracted for taxes and insurances. maybe if i could make more working in software development or linux administration.
thanks, michael
