What are the requirements for emigrating to Canada from the UK as a social worker?

Posted March 27th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I am in my final year of study of a postgraduate social work degree, and wish to emigrate to Canada when I qualify. Does anyone know how much work experience would be needed, and whether British social work qualifications are accepted in Canada? Has anyone did this before, and you did you find it? Is it tough to find a job in Canada? Thanks!

American Emigrating to Canada/work permit?

Posted March 17th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

My boyfriend is American and lives in the U.S. I am a Canadian living in B.C. we have been dating online for a very very long time now and he always comes up here to visit me, so yes we have met in person plenty of times. We have come to the conclusion that we think its best he moves up here to canada to live and be with me. with that said, we arent sure how to go about it(yes we have looked at many canada immigration sites we just want more personal stories and opinions). we want him to come up here as fast, as legal, and as easiest to come up here to Canada. We also want to get married sometime soon and thought maybe he could get a temporary work permit up here and while hes on that we could get married up here and then he can permanently stay here with me and work because we are married. would that be a possible route to go and is that legal? thats just an idea, we just thought the marriage thing would help to let him permantly stay but if theres another option that doesnt require getting married thats fine too, atleast we will one day get married. whats the easiest fastest way of getting him out here and being able to permanently stay and work? and if he does have to end up coming on a temporary work status and getting a work permit how much money if required from him to have in his bank to be allowed to move up here and if he has to have a certain amount and doesnt quiet have it cant he just rely on my help too? ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY VERY APPRECIATED THANK YOU :D!!!

Emigrating to Canada/USA?

Posted February 9th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

We are planning to emigrate in about 4 years time. I would like to go to New Hampshire in the US and my husband would like to go to Canada.
Can anyone tell me which is best and why. Also if anyone can suggest somewhere nice in Canada.
My ideas for where I want to live is not in the middle of a city or town but I would like somewhere within driving range of one. I would like a house surrounded by trees and fields and the next house is a 5-minute walk away. I want a house big enough for family and friends to come and stay whenever they like. I need a good school nearby for the children. My husband is a floor layer and I am an interior designer.
Temperature wise I want it to be warm in the summer and cold in the winter.
Any tips anyone???

Gift idea for someone emigrating to canada!! Not too expensive and slightly quirky!!?

Posted January 19th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

Im almost done with school which means i will be eligable to emmigrate soon! I just have a few questions about emigrating…

1. Would Canada accept me if im 18 with minor job experience and all but a grade 12 education?
2. How long will this take?
3. Will my gf having our baby in Canada increase my chances?
4. Will me attending a university there increase my chances?

No, were not considering a baby my gf is pregnant
ibu guru – how do you know shes 14? And i didnt rape her i was 17…

She wouldnt be coming either
WTF DJj J!?!?! Her parents wouldnt let her come! And i would pay child support, visit every once in a while and help take care of the baby in the meantime

Im an English nurse, emigrating to Canada…which city should i choose, Tor or Vanc?

Would like warm summers and snowy winters. Love cafe culture, house music, clubbing and staying out late! Would have £100 000 to invest in property and I presume a job in critical care nursing would be secured before I leave Blighty.

Emigrating to Canada?

It seems to be a favorite expression among people that “if so-and-so wins this election, I’m moving to Canada.”

Does anyone know if the number of people emigrating to Canada after an election ACTUALLY rises or not? Do any of the people who make this joke actually go through with it?

For someone emigrating to Canada from the US, is it hard to assimilate?

What can I expect?
