the first Australian Alpacas to be exported to Canada for over a decade, have just entered the Mariah Hill alpaca Quarantine Faciity in Nar Nar Goon, Victoria. They will be grazing on lush pastures that have been specially selected forr this export which will arrive in Canada on 10/11/08, and from there they will go to Hummzinger Alpacas, where Tannis Froese, will transport them to her farm in Manatoba, Canada, near Lake Winnepeg. Selected for their advanced fleece qualities, these alpacas will spend the next 2 months under the watchful eye of Rob, Raelene and Elyse Strong, of Mariah Hill alpacas & Exports. Raelene Strong, an AQIS Accrediated Exporter has been under intense negotiations with the Canadian Quarantine Service, for approx 6 months, to enable to open up protocols for exports of alpacas from Australia to Canada. The last expot took place approx 14 years ago. We look forward to exporting these alpacas to Canada, and other countries which Raelene is under way to create and open up. keep a close eye as we place some more videos of the alpacas during their quarantine period
