I am presently studying Master degree (MBA) at Birmingham city university in England. I would like to know if I can apply for Canada work permit after I complete my studies or I have to go back to my country citizenship (India) to apply for work permit.
I have option to apply for post study work permit for 2 years and since UK job market is shrinking I am giving thought to apply for Canada work permit. or PR (Canada is my dream destination is also a other reason to apply).

I have the dream of moving to Canada soon, Im from Nicaragua and the skilled worker programme is my best option, but I am a software engineer and I dont find my occupation on the list, BUT, theres this on the bottom:

NOTE: the occupations above are all Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list.

I searched for Software engineering and it was there, so I am really confused, is Software engineering an occupation in Demand in Canada or not….. Again please and thank you so much!

Can anyone apply for immigration to Canada as a refugee?

Hi everyone,

Currently, I work and live in US. My current status is an asylee in US. My case is still in process and pending at BIA (Board of Immigration Appeals).
No decision yet.

My question is: can I apply for Canada PR?

The reason I’m asking is because I look at on the Canada PR Application checklist, Appendix A point 4: Travel Docs and Passports, it says:

“If you live in a country different from your nationality include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live. Note that all prospective immigrants must hold a valid regular passport; diplomatic, official, service or public affairs passports are not valid for immigration to Canada .”

The fact is, while I can live and work legally in US, I don’t have a visa.

I plan on moving to Canada in a couple of years and I need to know how long you have to live there to apply for citizenship. I also need to know if you have to be a citizen of Canada to join in their military. I would like to join the Air Force if possible when I move there.
