American College student, thinking about future living in the UK, opinions?

Posted May 5th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’m am an electrical engineering student attending TN Tech University. Like anyone else I am thinking about my future after college and one thing I considered was possibly moving to the UK. A couple things made me consider this. I went to England last year my senior year of high school for choir and I absolutely, loved it, I had my 18th birthday there too. I’m also planning to study abroad for a semester next year in Scotland or England which will give me another idea about how I might like living there. Also, my main herritage is British. My Grandma is from Canada, and her mother immigrated from Britain years ago. I absolutely love the culture, and have been reading up on it a lot. Just a lot of stuff makes more sense, not that I don’t love the US either but.

Anyways, I guess what I’m really asking for is some opinions from maybe American’s who have moved there or from UK citizens. I know I’m only 19, but it’s never to early to think about your future.

How do Canadians feel about US citizens immigrating to Canada?

Posted May 1st, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

My husband and I have talked about moving to Canada. This wouldn’t happen until I was finished with my Masters (MBA) and we were in a financial position to do so.

I am not sure how many Canadians are around Y!A, but how do people in Canada feel about US citizens that immigrate to Canada?

What does the BNP think about emigration?

Posted April 5th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

In the Jan 2008 issue of Identity, the BNP’s ” flagship magazine”, they have a nice article about how great the empire was. They say that between 5,000 and 7,000 people left per year.
The claim is that 100 million British people left to go to America between 1815 and 1930. (considering that the US is only 300 million people, Canada about 20 million maybe 30 million, and that the number of hispanics, asians and black people plus the emigration from the rest of europe, like the large russian community etc makes this figure seem a little strange to me, either many people went and came back, but anyways…)

Then in february 2008 Griffin talks about the number of british people emigrating abroad at 207,000. And the reason ALL these people seem to leave is “in the hope of making a new life somewhere with lower taxes, less red tape and no third world invasion.”
I think most people would say they are leaving the country to go somewhere which has sunshine the majority of the time.

The BNP seems to think that prior to WW2 and the “genocide-by-replacement” “invasion” of black people and asian people it was such a great time and we need to go back to that, yet so many people emigrated then, and people emigrate now, that it might not actually be because of the immigration that british people are leaving.

Hi everyone, I really need some help and advice please!

Iv heard about sponsering- he sponsers me to stay in the country…how exactly does this work please???

Also, we would love to get our own house, probably through a mortgage. I have been trying to get as much info as possible and have found that alot of mortgage lenders wouldnt lend to us because I havent lived in Canada for long enough, is this true? How long do I need to be in the country to be eligable to get a mortgage?
