My cousin is a UK citizen and wants to immigrate to Canada. As he does not have much $$$ he plans to apply under the skilled workers category. Would he have to apply under the points system like anyone coming from any other country? Also he is not well qualified (completed high school) and has worked as a salesperson only. i am currently living with my south african boyfriend in south africa. he wants to immigrate to canada as soon as possible.i am canadian and we want to get married but we looked into it and the rules state that u cant have a criminal record if u want to immigrate under any circumstance. he just got busted for smoking a joint. it wasnt even anything serious. his country has a **** legal system and he didnt even get a trial. they wont excuse his record for 10 years in south africa. is there any hope?

We are Australian and have submitted an application to immigrate to Canada under the skilled workers program. The Canada consulate have advised it will take a minimum of 13 months to be approved. We want to know if anyone has apply for this visa and how long it took.

All through the years, the USA was the main country that people immigrated to, now i would think that Canada is the most popular place to immigrate to followed by Australia and the United Kingdom. Why did the immigration rate to the US drop so dramatically?
