Dave Nachmanoff, Liz Bligan, and Mike Lindauer perform “A Certain Distance”, a song inspired by Dave being refused entry to Canada. Ellis Paul provides harmony vocals on the CD version. Dave does not mean to offend Canadians 😉 . How Long Can I Work In Canada With A Temporary Work Permit?

Posted May 14th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

I’ve searched high and low on emigration sites, visa sites… and such and can’t find the answer.

Im British. There is someone I wish to be with out in Canada and I would like to work out there temporarily to see how it goes between us and so that I have money to support myself and the one im going out to see.

All I want to know is..

If I apply for a working visa, what is the standard amount of time, or the maximum I can spend out there working before having to apply for an extension or simply coming home again?

( If it helps. Im looking to go to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada )

If after so many months I return home … Can I reapply and go out for the same amount of time?
Or is it you go out once … then thats it. Not again unless you Emigrate or something.

Please be supportive and help me to find the answers I want.
As much information, details and possible links to visit would be much appreciated.
Thank You.

Also, can I obtain dual citizenship without having to live in Canada?

Emigrating to Canada from UK in October during Grade 12?

Posted May 12th, 2011 by immigratecanada and filed in Immigration to Canada

Hi, I’m taking Business Studies (A), Maths (B), English Language (A) and Biology (A) at AS level. (Predicted grades in brackets). We hope to move to Nova Scotia in the October this year, therefore, will transfer from College here to a high school there. I understand that 4 AS’s at grade C and above mean you can be considered into Dalhousie University, however, I wish to go high school there so that I can better integrate and understand the workings better. If I transfer during Grade 12, will I be able to get a qualification from the high school their? I don’t like the thought of not achieving something. Thanks for your help. 🙂
Actually, it’s Year 13!
